Local Content - Storage Space, Folder Structure and CNN

New to Channels and love it so far.

First. I have all of my movies and TV shows in Plex. My location structure is /volume1/PlexContent/Movies
/volume1/PlexContent/TV Shows
/volume1/PlexContent/Personal Videos and so on.

Unless I'm missing something, Channels doesn't let you drill down past the root folder (PlexContent) to add TV Shows for example. When I select PlexContent it won't let me go below that. I don't want to have to redo my entire Plex library list. Is there a way around this?

Second.. When 'importing' media like movies to Channels, does it just create a path to the existing media on the server or does it actually import a physical copy of the media onto the same server?

Third. I added Sling as a source. CNN is missing. CNN says they are TVE with partner companies. I assume since they are on Sling that Sling is a partner. Anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks.

My guess is you need to give the channels user permission to your PlexConnect so it can see the contents

You were correct. ChannelsDVR had no permissions to Plex. I gave it Read\Write and still can't see the folders.

Found it in Shared folder. System internal. Channels can see all the folders now.

That doesn't necessarily mean that Sling offers TVE support for CNN. From Sling's own support article on TVE, it looks like CNN is not available.

Thanks for the link. Put in a request for CNN.

Now that I am able to import shows, my question about space is answered.
