Local guide info not present for 30.1 using Channels

In Indianapolis, there is a local station, WSDI-LD operating on channels 30.1, 30.2, 30.3, 30.4, 30.5, 30.6, 30.7.

For the last year, the guide information for all of these has:

  • not shown up on Channels for TvOS
  • rarely shows up on Channels for iOS (and is is gone within the hour)
  • not shown in the web version from the DVR (where these channel numbers are not even shown in that listing)

During this same time, the HDHomeRun app has had the guide information.

I purchased the Channels apps for TvOS and iOS apps, as well as subscribed to the DVR service, which I run locally. Both HDHomeRun CONNECT and HDHomeRun QUATRO are used together.

Zap2it.com has also listed the WSDI-LD program information, although not all of the time.

There is no channel mapping for this station on either of the HDHR units. (All other local channels are correctly mapped.)

What else is needed in order to diagnose why Channels does not show the guide information?

I know many LD stations have incorrect guide info, but at least the info is shown.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate you guys and your apps.

I live about 40 miles west of DC. In order to get all my OTA channels into the guide with their schedule, I used 3 different zip codes. My home zip code covered 85%, a Baltimore area code got all the rest except 1 which required using a DC zip code.

Check where the transmitter is located for your missing channels and use that or an adjacent zip code.

Under your hdhomerun you can click the pencil icon and see all your mappings. At the top, click plus to add more nearby zip codes. Then click the plus next to 30.1 and map it to the correct guide data.

I've added the Zip for the tower location 46260 (5 miles or less from my location 46240)
13%20PM

I then went to the plus next to 30.1, and it does not show any available mappings
01%20PM

Try zipcode 46268, that’s where the tower is located.

@chDVRuser nice, how’d you figure that out?

Using the tower coordinates from rabbitears.info and plugging them into google maps

That did it. All of the 30.x guide info are showing.

I hope it sticks. Subsequent editing of the HDHomeRun QUATRO only shows my home ZIP listed and not the added ones.

Thank you guys so much.
