I just installed the software on my Mac and linked up my YTTV subscription. I see that none of my local networks are available--I guess that is expected?
How are others solving this? Would that require a different subscription?
Whether locals are available via TVE, and if so, which ones, will depend on your market. I'm fortunate and can get my CBS and ABC affiliates via TVE.
Your local NBC affiliate almost surely won't be available; NBC encrypts their streams, so no NBC properties work with TVE. (I was able to bring NBC's cable properties into my guide using streamlinks so that I can see what's on; when I click on them, I get kicked out to the YTTV app.)
With an antenna and an HDHomeRun tuner you can integrate your locals into your guide without having to rely on TVE.
