Logs folder is super large

I'm wondering which folder contents can be deleted or if there should be a limit on the amount of data in the logs. My log folder is currently nearly 8GB, which seems excessive to me. What is safe to delete, and what must be kept? I have folders dating back to 2023. Thanks for your help!

You'll find my answer in there, too, where I just have a script that deletes anything older than 7 days.

Thank you for the info. I will look into using the script.

My main ChannelsDVR log is over 1 gig.

And Leon is getting larger!

My logs folder is only 6.5MB. Server is installed on Win 11, been so for over a year now.

4.89 GB here.

One hour recording over OTA is 8GB so we don't consider that large. You are free to delete logs if you wish.

How often do you cycle the main Channels-dvr.log ?

The channels-dvr.log file is never rotated.

From the service entry:

ExecStart=/bin/sh -c 'exec /home/channels/channels-dvr/latest/channels-dvr >> /home/channels/channels-dvr/data/channels-dvr.log 2>&1'
