So I think I made a mistake. I believe I mistakenly deleted some of the main files for the dvr thinking they were junk. My bad. . . . sad face.
Well now I am stuck. DVR has disappeared from ATV interface and I’ve tried uninstalling and re-installing with no luck. Please help a sorry sap like myself!

Depends on what you deleted, but try this after reinstalling:

Shut down the DVR (uncheck on settings tab), then visit http://x.x.x.x:8089/restore. Navigate to the Database directory next to your recordings, and restore a recent backup that has the data.

X.x.x.x = server ip

Thank you for the reply! I feel like such an idiot. I ended up figuring out a solution:

  • Navigating to my user folder (Mac) and deleted the channels-dvr folder.
  • Re-installed the dvr.
  • Restored from a backup.

Yes, It was 3 .log files & 2 index_meta.json files, install.sh and uninstall.sh

You may be thinking to yourself, self, why would such a person do that. I do not have a great answer for you :slight_smile: I for some reason glanced in my “all my files” folder on my mac mini and in that moment they all looked like junk files to me. (I’ve also been working on populating my plex server so I get random files that show up for MakeMKV sometimes)

So as you can see it was just a dumb mistake on my end. I will say I couldn’t find a great step by step to re install the DVR. I found that on my own after looking in my user name folder and deleting the channels-dvr folder. That one took me forever, but also remember I’ve proven not to be so bright. Thanks for checking in, I appreciate all you do for us!

Strange, none of those should have affected the DVR…

I’m going to tell you right now, that it is completely possible I did something else but that was the last thing i did while my wife was watching “into the badlands”. the DVR playback stopped and disappeared and suddenly i was “in the badlands”. :slight_smile: she was not happy.

If i can pull a log file or something let me know. You may have to walk me through it.
