M3U server mode?

I recently saw that some people are using Tivimate as a front-end to channels. Being curious (and also not really liking the clunky Channels Guide), I decided to load Tivimate on my CCWGTV. Pointed Tivimate to my Channels DVR server (QNAP) using

http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/devices/any/channels.m3u

get an error processing the playlist

Am I missing something? Do I need to create a file at that location? If so, how?

First, you need to include the port number (8089). Second, the DeviceID in the endpoint should be ANY (all caps). Also, to prevent transcoding and ensure the streams are passed in their original format, use the format=ts parameter:
http://12.34.56.78:8089/devices/ANY/channels.m3u?format=ts

Thanks my bad on the port # (I did enter it - missed putting it into my post). I'll check the caps. Thanks

I got it to accept the playlist but then got a message that it couldn't process it. I think the problem is I haven't purchased it and the limitation to the free version is no multi-playlists so I'll try to feed it a single m3u stream to see what happens.

Got it working. Problem was trial mode with multi-playlists caused a problem. Loaded a single channel, it worked, just bought the license and was able to load my Channels DVR sources (hdomerun w/cablecard, TVE, m3u feeds).

Anyone know where the best place to look for info on how Tivimate works? (PIP, etc).

An app from a developer in Belarus with no web presence? You can Google for sites, but you're on your own.

(While one's location is certainly not an indicator of their quality, it does give me pause. However, this has now moved beyond the scope of this forum, so I'm marking this closed and solved.)
