MacOS DVR Server storage issue (with USB Drive)

I have a mac set up with the Channels DVR Server up and running. I have a USB drive which I have named Recordings and when I try to point the DVR storage to this drive I get the following error.

Error: no write permissions on dvr directory: open /Volumes/Recordings/dvr/.permcheck: operation not permitted.

I can use terminal to open and it works fine. I can also point the DVR to my desktop or internal storage as both work fine. Only have the issue with the external USB. it is formatted and mounted.

Volume name : Recordings

Any ideas?

Solved it. Had to go to Settings then Privacy & Security then Files & Folders and click on Channels DVR and hit the arrow key and then turn on "Removable Volumes".
