Manual Recordings?

Hi, just a quick question.

I want to record the daily "Ashes" series cricket. It runs from around 10:00 am in the morning to around 6:00pm. This is an example, the times differ day to day.

Is there a way to setup a manual recording to start at 10 and end at 6 for 8 or 9 hours continuous. The actual channel breaks it up into segments as they maybe do a 1/2 news, or a lunch break, so I was wanting to avoid making several recordings for that period. I just want to set a one off recording.

Hope you get what I'm trying to do...I cannot find an option to set a long duration manually.

There are a couple of ways you can do this.

One way is to use the Chrome extension that I created for Channels DVR:

The extension adds an option on the server to create one-time manual recordings just like you used to do with a VCR.

There is also another way if you use OliveTin for Channels created by @bnhf.

You could also pick an airing in the time slot you want and add pre and post padding to it. These padding options are presets you can pick from.

Creating a series pass will allow adding custom pre and post padding down to the second.

Thank you both for the reply. I was hoping it would be just as simple as picking a channel, and then set a start and stop time. Anywhoo, I'll check the suggestions out.
