No matter what I do channel mapping don't work. Nextpvr and emby map a channel based on name and tvg-name. It seems channels don't automap, even if i put the channel name or guide info into channel-id, nothing. What am I missing. This has been driving me crazy for days.

what is used to map with the guide provider when you use the zip code. Thats what I am trying to get to map. If channel-id is not used to map any channels, then why make it a requirement for channels to import m3u file. Its an extra step that is annoying to do since its useless. No matter what I put in the required field, nothing happens. Thats not required if you ask me.

tvc-guide-stationid is the tag that maps to Gracenote supplied guide data.
Channels maps real lineups with our guide provider. You’re not using a real lineup when you add Custom Channels from a random source. I’m not sure how you expect it to magically map to random sources from the internet.
If your source also provides xmltv data, add that. It will match your tvg-ids and it will all just work.
But your random channel streams won’t magically match to real guide data. You can manually map them yourselves, which will give you the best experience in Channels.
