Many times we start sports about 30 min late to skip commercials and wish we could find the markers with a 2-core task so they could be auto-skipped.
If you are referring to commercial detection for a live stream or recording-in-progress, this doesn't work very well. Even though the software can technically run real-time, its accuracy isn't that great.
My experience with software that implements comskip use on live programs has been very positive. For example, when recording a 1 hour long program, it's common for people to start watching about 20 minutes after the program starts recording, and if the software is written well, it skips commercials as well as the standard pre-recorded programs, dynamically adjusting the commercial markers as it records.
Channels DVR has not yet implemented this feature, however, it's worth noting that it's very good software as it is today.
