Matching Videos?

Weird question. I am importing a bunch of old TiVo stuff to a Channels server and the TV series and Movie stuff has gone fine in terms of uploading and matching. But I have come across a bunch of random saved things that I would like to handle a little differently and I'm wondering if it's possible.

There are some things, like an odd 30 For 30 or NatGeo documentary episode here or there, or a Netflix music or sports documentary, that I'm trying to keep separate. Technically a 30 For 30 or NatGeo episode is a TV series and I can import it and match it, but I'd rather not have a bunch of different series like these living under TV that only have 1 episode each. Similarly, the Netflix doc will match as a Movie, but it's kind of a special case that I'd prefer to keep separate from Movies.

I tried creating a folder like "Sports" or "Music" under Imports and putting them there. That worked in terms of keeping them separate, but then I found that there is no option to match them so I would have to enter all the metadata manually.

I guess the simplest way to ask the question is is there a way to match something that is outside of the TV or Movies folders? Or is there a way to match a TV episode or Movie but somehow have it appear outside of one of those headings, as if it was a different type of media in the library? If not, I'll just have to suck it up and enter the metadata from TMDB manually I guess.

No.
Imports are either TV Shows, Movies or Videos.
TV Shows and Movies can be matched as you found and will appear that way in the Library.
Videos don't get matched and you have to add metadata manually.

If you want them to be hidden from your library, set their Library Visibility to hidden, and then add them to a Collection.

You’ll be able to get to them via the collection while not appearing directly in your library.

This could be a solution.
