Menu system like Infuse?

This is for the ATV app specifically but would apply to the other iOS apps too.

Would love to see the way you view episodes in a season to mirror the apps infuse and plex. It makes sense for the episodes to go left to right starting with the first episode. Each of the above mentioned apps have different ways to see episode info when selecting an episode but they both have that info on the same page (infuse on the top section, plex on the bottom). I prefer the infuse view imo.

But I just hate having to go from one page back to another and then another to get to the main menu. Too many layers especially if you start at Up Next and work your way to the full season view.

Channels was designed as a DVR and not a media library, so large libraries are not something we have optimized for yet. That said, we are aware that the current setup is not ideal.

Have you tried the iOS beta? It makes it a bit easier to browse all of a shows episodes without a lot of back and forth.

Yeah I totally get it. Just thought a better design for the ATV would make for less clicks. Mainly the starting at the last episode and having to scroll to the first one doesn’t make sense with the current set up though. If I have a whole season of a reality tv show recorded I don’t even want to see the last episode at first glance as it might ruin it!

The idea with showing the latest first is that most of the time you’re up to date and trying to watch the latest recording, so having to scroll to the end of the list to find the next episode to watch is annoying.

Clearly different people use the DVR in different ways, so we’re trying to find a good balance. Either way, I think we know the show page on ATV could use some work and hope to do another iteration sometime soon.
