I have some imported content for the TV program 'Cops'. I have also set a pass that records this program from PlutoTV. I have two entries for this tv show. One is 'COPS' and the other is 'Cops'. Is there a way to merge these? If so, will this prevent the recording of duplicate episodes?
Pluto uses a different unique ID (Program ID) for the episodes vs. recordings from other sources and imports that use Gracenote Program ID. As far as Channels DVR is concerned, your Pluto episodes are different than your imported episodes.
The only way to combine them is to move the Pluto recordings to your import directory.
If you decide to do this, be aware that a lot of times the Pluto Season and Episode numbers don't match up with the Gracenote ones used when you import.

He could edit Season. Episode, Episode Title. But like I said, the Pluto Season and Episode numbers are usually wrong. Channels DVR will still look at them as different shows due to their different source Series/Program ID's.
I prefer to also get the Season and Episode numbers correct on the recorded file names in case you want to import them into Channels, Plex, whatever. Unfortunately that is what the scraper/importer looks at instead of the Episode Title/OAD. Also makes it easier to see what you have from a file explorer on your OS or when using something like filebot to rename them.
