Happy customer using Channels on a WD PR4100. Lost the server during an upgrade and "temporarily" setup a new Channels installation on a PC so folks could watch TV. Now restoring the PR4100 and getting ready to install Channels on it. How do I take my Channels recordings from the old server installation as well as the Channels files from my temporary PC installation and get them together working as part of the new PR4100 build? Should I just merge all the files in the \TV folder or is there a better option?
You can’t add videos to the directory that Channels DVR Server records to, as they won’t be in its database.
Instead, just use the Local Imports feature to add your recordings. They will be added to your library.
That'll work. I'll just do that with the "keepers" and trash the rest of the old stuff. I'd call that a slight annoyance but since this is NOT supposed to happen, it's a reasonable solution.
I already have a different directory with my long term library and I'll move the recordings there. Thanks for the quick response.
