Mesh/Remote Transcoder for remote and web-based playback

As the title says, it would be great to have a way to dedicate transcoding to another server.

How I would assume it would work, would be running some sort of ChannelsDVR agent on another server on your network which you could then select that on your primary channelsDVR server instance.

Reason behind this idea is some NAS's where ChannelsDVR is running don't have GPUs or the built-in ones on the motherboard are terrible for hardware transcoding. Alot of NAS machines are small (Mini ITX) and you are usually stuck with only 1 PCI-E slot which either goes to a GPU or to a RAID card for storage.

Everyones setup is different however thought I'd chuck the idea out there and hope other people see the potential in this.

It seems the simple solution is to place the Channels DVR server on the server with the necessary GPU resource and leave the storage on the NAS. Simply access the NAS storage via an SMB share.

This is my configuration and it works great and is super easy to maintain.
