Metv toons

I am already pulling this channel in for my area (Nashville 44.8). They are airing a continuous promo loop. Does anyone know what time the actual programming starts and when we would have access to a guide? I am pretty excited about this station.

Call the station and ask them

Awesome. Thank you!

You'll have to manually map the listings to "METOONS" (stationId: 159817) for now as Gracenote didn't create an entry for 44.8 WJFBDT8

Okay. I just did that and it worked…I have already set some things to record…Thanks for that feedback! I know it’s just old cartoons, but I am pretty excited about this channel.

I'm excited too! I know I could watch elsewhere, but it's nice just to watch these on air. I love that MeTV is starting at episode one for shows they are airing. I also remapped for MeTV and have it set to record the first show. I love new channels lol

Not offered in Harrisburg OTA yet. It shows it's on Philo, but no joy when I do a new channel scan. Assuming no TVE option?

*EDIT - I just realized MeTV doesn't appear to have a TVE for the main channel, I get that OTA, so makes sense that I wouldn't see the Toon channel on a new channel scan. Oh well, just have to be patient.

I am getting the East Coast guide data but am in Tucson, Arizona getting the West Coast video. Tried a re-download of guide data last night and just a short while ago. Channel starts broadcasting for West Coast in about 45 minutes.

EDIT: Link to schedule PDF

So is METV broadcasting in a lower quality to affiliates?

For me OTA METV toons is 704x480 and for Frndly TV it's 1280x720 and it's not just innocuous it's noticeable.

Can anyone confirm what their local broadcast network is broadcasting their METV Toons in? 720 or 480?

I know it might be rare for someone to have both OTA and paid version but it's definitely interesting to see what they're doing.

I do not have OTA yet but have Friendly and it is 1280x720

Yeah it would be really disappointing if METV or my local affiliate is deciding to broadcast METV toons in low PQ. I know it's a subchannel not main channel for my area at least, but that would be unfortunate.

MeTV, at least in my area, has 10 digital sub-channels on the same frequency. When you have that many subchannels you can only fit one HD subchannel on there.

For me there are 6 channels from the station. One is 1080i and one is 720p and the rest including MeTV toons is in 480i.

Looking at Wikipedia it seems that this isn't out of the norm

"720p HDTV master feed (downscaled to 480i SDTV widescreen on most OTA affiliates)"

That's just maddening!

Finally get a good new channel and it's low PQ. :pensive:

Yeah just did a scan and got the OTA, 480I

Rabbitears.info has a list of where MeTV Toons can be found OTA and includes resolutions:
https://www.rabbitears.info/search.php?request=network_search&network=Me-TV+Toons

All have 480i except for:
KPOM - ONTARIO, CA (720p)
KAZD - LAKE DALLAS, TX (720p)
KMYL - LUBBOCK, TX (480p)
WOSC - PITTSBURGH, PA (1080i)

43.4 WZME - Bridgeport shows as 480 on Rabbit Ears but it is coming through OTA as 720p.

I noticed that and set things to record because of that as well…LOVE IT! Thanks again to the person who helps keep the FrndlyTV for channels python thing updated!!!! It’s a clearer picture than I can get OTA

How do you manually map OTA station in web based (pc) channels (not docker)? Screen shots very helpful.

Thanks in advance
