Migrating Channels to Raspbery Pi questions

Q1
How do I cleanly remove Channels from my Synology DC216j?

Q2
Your 'Raspbery Pi Install' Page (see link below) - Under section "Flash the Image to your USB 3.0 Hard Drive".
You say "Your DVR is up and running. Visit http://dvr-server to finish setup"
This URL (http://dvr-server) returns - "site can't be reached".
Could you fix link - or send me the 'finish setup' instructions.
Channels Support - Raspbery Pi Installation

BACKGROUND
I currently have Channels running on a Synology DC216j.
I purchased a Raspbery Pi and will be building it out today.
There is nothing on the Synology Channels that I want to keep so my plan is to

  • Build out Raspbery Pi with Channels
  • Blow away Synology Channels
    And move forward from there.

If you DVR server on the Pi is not running, of course the site can't be reached. When the Pi server runs, it sets its hostname to dvr-server, so assuming your router is set up to route by host name, that site won't exist until you have actually booted the Pi.

If you still cannot reach the site via https://dvr-server or https://dvr-server.local, you can always use the IP address assigned by your router, ie https://192.168.0.96 but substituting the Pi's actual IP.

Simple

  1. Get the path where you set Channels DVR to record to from the web UI Settings>Basic Setup>DVR (most likely /volume1/something)
  2. Uninstall the Channels DVR Synology package using Synology Package Manager
  3. Delete the folder you found in step 1 from your Synology
