...but still using the NAS as storage (same files / folders)....just want to use the more powerful CPU in the WIN10 machine. So I backed up the db, quiesced the DVR on the Synology nas, installed Channels DVR on the WIN10 machine as a service, created a user for the service with permissions to the NAS share.....Channels DVR starts up, loads the guide info, etc....but the log indicates that it can't find the path (for db backups) and says "no file or directory" when I try and watch a recording.....help!
I did note that, to install in WIN10, I had to use a mapped :\CDVR vs \nasname\video share\CDVR.....
.......basically, I didn't realize I could just paste the correct path in (\\video share\CDVR)...so it's working now....thank you for your quick response, great product.
