I use an Nvida Shield Pro (not the $149 basic model) as my Channels DVR server and it works like a champ. It also hosts my Plex server. Plus, you get Android TV with a nice screen interface and built-in Chromecast. $199 plus the cost of a external hard drive ($60 for 2 TB) and you're good to go.

has the con that using this as your server, u can NOT add YouTube TV as a TVE source.
That may be a deal breaker from some.

That is a life saver if you have power flickering off for 2 seconds. I have a router TV PC in and I get about 20 minutes from it so it won't close everything
