My Apple TV thinks it is connected to a local server and won't allow me to connect to my proper remote server. I can see the IP address of the laptop it discovered on the network, but Channels Server is not installed on that PC. I even installed the DVR Server Installer to make sure it wasn't on there.
Are there any known programs that could be causing the app to auto connect to a server that doesn't exist?
@tmm1 any idea? Whenever the laptop is powered on and on the network the Apple Tv app thinks it is a server and automatically connects to it without looking for the remote DVR. I've verified the server is NOT installed on the laptop.
Is there something running on port 8089?
Sorry, my mistake. It's my brother-in-law's laptop, he said the Windows installer had no option to uninstall (over the phone) and that he was sure he had never installed it to begin with. I didn't realize he meant "the option is there but is grayed out" (until the DVR was stopped)... I haven't used the windows server in years, I screwed up not knowing what to look for.
