Missed recording ... again

I'm not sure, I don't watch or record these channels myself.

The new build is out, so you should update to prerelease and then go in and rescan just BTN to make sure its working now.

If its fixed then I would expect it to stay fixed and you shouldn't need any timers. If you want to be safe, you can set a reminder for 30 days and check to make sure its still working.

Today we had a power outage. I brought the Channels DVR server back online (booted it up) at about 4:45 pm. Recordings since then have all failed (6pm and 6:30 pm recordings for example). Logs were submitted. Please advise on how to fix.

(If I attempt to watch live on channel 58.1 where recordings were missed, it seems to work fine)

It looks like you have the HTTP logging option enabled under Experimental which makes your logs very hard to read. You should turn this off if you're not using it.

I don't remember ever enabling that feature, but it's now unchecked based on your recommendation.

I'm seeing that two programs were missed, and a third was skipped because it had already started.

Yes, I see the same. (2) programs scheduled to begin recording at 5:59pm were missed. (1) program scheduled to start at 6:29pm was missed "Failed: program already started"

User options for these (3) missed recordings are:
"Delete"

I believe the DVR will give up recording if its been more than 5 minutes since the program started. This has come up before as something we might disable or make configurable. For TVE streams if the DVR kept trying for a whole hour it could easily get your account disabled.

It looks like the 3rd recording was missed because family had tuned to the station and were watching it live. The previous 2 recordings (via over-the-air antenna) that were missed appear to be some kind of mystery.

Is the clock on the PC correct?

Yes, it appears to be. That was something that was checked as 'accurate' before I was able to send the logs.

Good morning.

Is there a website that I can visit to view the Gracenote guide data from yesterday so that I can try and troubleshoot a season pass that appears to have missed a recording (Dr. Phil first runs)?

Yes, visit zap2it.com

Thank you. I looked at the guide from yesterday, there was a new doctor phil program at 3pm on CBS (S20E45), but it didn't record and doesn't seem to show any reason why in the server web interface (there is no notification of a missed recording). I checked the log and it says this:

2021/11/12 13:47:55.084948 [CACHE] Deleting cache for file 8630 (1023.7MB) due to being 1.6GB over limit
2021/11/12 13:47:55.553065 [CACHE] Deleting cache for file 8631 (63.8MB) due to being 654.2MB over limit

2021/11/12 14:59:00.030003 [DVR] Skipping job 1636750740-92 Dr. Phil

Why was the program skipped?

Skip means someone went to the schedule or guide and hit skip on that recording

I'm not sure who would have done that. Would the action of telling the software to skip the program be somewhere in the log that I submitted?

It wasn't in the logs which were uploaded

You could search the rest of the http log files for "1636750740-92". But given how much traffic your dvr gets from multiple clients it might have rolled away out of the logs already.

Alright. I'll chalk this one up to user error. Thank you for looking into it.

No, the action of selecting skip on a scheduled recording is not logged.

The only clue is what you posted from the log when it came time to record it.

Sometimes other actions (like scheduling a recording, etc.) will also cause that to appear for a skipped job in the log before the airing time.
If you want, you could select to display the whole DVR log and search for that job 1636750740-92
I use <CTRL>-F Find in my browser
