Missing Logos on Web Pages

Over the past month or so, I have noticed station logos are not appearing via the web. These two screen shots show the Web Admin Guide (from my DVR) and the Channels Support Page (getchannels.com).

While the logos do not show in both locations, if I right-click the logo icon placeholder and copy the URL, I can then paste the URL into the browser and see the logo as expected.

From my Guide:

From Channels Support Site:

The logos appear on all of my Shields and mobile devices without issue.

I had the same issue and found that my browser extension, uBlock Origin was blocking some logos where the image filename ended in _ad. Some channel logos missing

Whitelisting the site in uBlock Origin fixed it.

I thought about that before posting. I'm using pi-hole but that doesn't seem to be the issue because:

  • I can paste the URL for the logo in my browser and it shows up
  • I disabled pi-hole and the logo is still missing.

Just an odd issue.

Figured it out, sort of. I'm using Brave as my browser. Because my dvr is on my local LAN, their "shield" shows disabled, but it was blocking these URLs for the logos on the web page. Not sure why/how pasting the URL for the logo into the browser allowed them to show up while their "shield" was on. I installed Chrome and the logos show fine. Sent a bug report to Brave.

Thanks for getting me thinking beyond what I could directly observe.
