Missing OTA 4K channels

I'm in St Louis and had available the networks ATSC 3.0 channels for all the Networks. Lately CBS 104.1 and NBC 105.1 are missing.
Something on my end? Doesn't really matter because for some reason, they don't have the best reception. The regular channels are fine. Just curious why

I bet they went and DRM'ed them. Look at the list of channels after a scan and see if they are DRM'ed. Mine show up in the HDHomerun with a little DRM symbol next to them and do not appear at all in channels.

Yup, went to sources and sure enough DRM!!. So how will that work? I won't be able to use my HDHomerun for these channels now? Crazy

Yea HDHomerun will no longer work with DRM channels. It will take a new box to receive those channels.

No. It will require both a firmware update and a software update, but likely not new hardware.

The problem is that they can't release the software yet because the standards have not yet been finalized.

I bought an HDHomerun 4 tuner box and it won't work with OTA 4K? what the what

There currently are no OTA 4K channels. And it will work with non-encrypted broadcasts. If you have a problem with DRM on your local OTA broadcasts, the proper blame is with the broadcasters/networks.

You can go over to the official Silicon Dust HDHR forms and complain there. There is already threads over there about it. And, it also been mentioned here in various threads about ATSC3.0.
Basicly, they can do nothing, cause the governing body that controls things (A3SA), the certification for DRM, will not authorize Gateway devices like the HDHR. And all SD says is the A3SA servers that make the certificates is broken, has been for over a year now, and all they can do is wait until they are fixed.

I've been following the NextGen troubles but it isn't just HDHomeRun.....

I just bought a new LG OLED TV and it doesn't have an ATSC 3.0 tuner.

My peanut gallery hot-take: DRM will eventually kill OTA television, and you'll need to subscribe to a plethora of online streaming services. That'll teach us to cut the cord.

Media cartel from hell.

I’ve said that from day one. DRM will kill the video star. We’ll get some free junk TV but everything else will be pay TV.
