MLB.TV Server v. MLB through E+TV

Is there much of a difference watching MLB.tv through the server setup through Olivetin or through E+TV? I cannot get the server to stay on 1080p, and the PQ is not as good as the MLB app. It seems I have to change the PQ from adaptive to 1080p daily on the server. Everything else works fine, though.

If your mlbserver channels.m3u URL includes the parameter “resolution=best” it should lock in 1080p for all MLB games.

Thank you. Mine does say that, but it just seems like the pq is not as crisp as the MLB app.

Is Channels transcoding it?

You can load up mlbserver in a web browser too and compare the stream there. Or open one of the stream URLs in VLC.

I’m not sure. Would it be better to have channels transcode it? If so, how do I set that?

Can you explain what you meant by this?

When I follow the link to the MLB TV server from the container, it has a list of different settings. The video is set to adaptive, but it has selections for 1080P all the way down to a low picture quality. I click on 1080P but then every time I go back to it it’s changed back to adaptive.

Those buttons are just for watching within the mlbserver web interface. They don’t have any effect on the channels.m3u streams.
