Move DVR to new Synology Vol but old appears to still in use

Quite some time ago I added a new SSD to my Synology DS220j for the dedicated use of Channels DVR.
Nipped into the desktop (iPad), switched off DVR, moved the DVR directory from volume1 to volume2 and the share, back to the desktop and pointed it to /volume2/DVR instead of volume1 (an HD) and perfect. No RAID configured.

For ages I’ve noticed volume1 appears to be still used when using Channels DVR in so far as I hear drive clicks when it’s busy and I have seen throughput logged… I can’t readily find any files but who knows what lurks in some system areas (pardon my ignorance).

Hopefully not a daft question, but is it possible for Channels to be still using the original volume for any data operations that the DVR was installed on?

Is it possibly because the DVR software was originally installed on volume1 and is still actually running from there??

Yes it appears the software is still running out of /volume1/@appstore/ChannelsDVR/channels-dvr/data and only recordings are going to /volume2

Thanks for that immediate response!

Never considered that until typing up!

So I can stop Channels DVR on the NAS, uninstall and re-install onto volume2 pointing the DVR to volume2 and voila? Nothing to worry about as such?

Yea I think so

Again… thanks!

Quick query…

Considering moving the files from volume 1 to 2 rather than a re-install.
Are the following directories the full list?

@appconf
@appdata
@apphome
@appstore
@apptemp

I don't know about any of those, Channels DVR is installed only inside /volume1/@appstore/ChannelsDVR/

I went down the simplest route.
Uninstall old, install to new volume, set security on DVR allowing channels R/W, restored backup… working.

I just worried unnecessarily that I would be in the bad books with my wife!!

Phew! Now everthing is 100% on the SSD.

Thanks again.
