I keep on DVR folder on a NAS, and since Channels puts all it's working folders there, the transcode folder is also stored on my NAS. Is there a way to just move the streaming folder to a local drive for better transcoding speeds?
You can create a symlink depending on the OS.
There have been some requests for a way to make the streaming directory configurable which is on my todo list.
Good to know it's on the todo list, thanks! I'm on Windows, so I'll see if I can symlink off a network drive back to a local one.
@tmm1 is this still something planned? (user defined /streaming location)
I'm willing to add a $100 "bounty" just to avoid manually adding symlinks when moving to Scale.
Also, if there is any news on a solution to the race condition that causes thousands of files/folders to build up in the directory?
This is indeed something still being considered.
From earlier this week:
Good to know, been waiting on this for a LONG time and have been using symlinks since before the OP asked.
I know it's not much but my bounty offer stands if it encourages things to move forward...
