Little late to the party as I just noticed this feature. Will Channels DVR read my existing local NFO files or will it rescan them all from an online database?
NFO files are not currently supported. Metadata matching is based on filenames and directory structure.
Unfortunately, Channels uses something more similar to Plex's naming standards, which is a bit less flexible than Kodi's default scrapers.
If you're going to import into Channels, I'd recommend going through your library to check filenames, and use Plex's support documents to see how best to name your files. While this isn't required, it will make the importing experience much nicer.
(This has just been my experience. Other users may have different experiences.)
Thanks for the information. Shame ...was hoping to bail on Kodi once and for all. The only reason I still use it mainly is for my TV show collection. I use default file mode with fanart and folder pics.......is too large and alot of odd shows that won't scrape properly unless I spent a year needling through each one.
Can you share some examples of your directory structure and file names and some nfo files?
I'll upload some examples this evening.
