I uncheck the pre-scan link.. but its trying to scan each file like this. going on for days.
how can i stop this, and just scan in the media.. as its holding up other folders.

i jut ended up removing the folder and start over. but in the future should be a option to stop that.. ?
You have to remove the import source in Channels DVR.
Deleting the folder on your drive just causes problems since Channels DVR is trying to keep its database updated with what's in your local content import folder on your drive.
