I'm having a issue with numerous movies that were recorded being misidentified as being tv shows with a unknown episode number how do i move them to movies and correct this so it doesn't re-occur or is it not able to be done. So far this happened with about 7 movies none of which have a tv series affiliated with them.Wasn't sure if this is the right place to address this so if needs to be moved please advise me to the appropriate category topic
If your Guide Data does not have the Movie genre/Category then it will not be Identified as a Movie. That happens a lot if you are not using GraceNote Guide data. You can move them to the ChannelsDVR Import/Movie folder and match the metadata.
K but is there a way to move the movies to Movies when it dioes this other than completely removing them completely from the drive and then reinstalling them into the movies directory on the drive containing my home directory for Channels manually
Also some channels have TV shows a majority of the time with movies ocassionally broadcast on them so cant adjust the M3U channel to be movies all the time or tv shows all the time. Be nice if there was a way to adjust it int the movies or shows metadata in channels then would move automatically once it is corrected manually while in Channels instead of doing so externally outside channels using a file manager or something else such as Filebot or other video identifier and renaming programs
I probably need to clarify these were recorded using Channels to record them so they are already in the Home by channels with no outside inputs for me so not sure how to import them into the movie folder while removing them from the Tv shows as i don't see a export and or import function in the drop down list availiable so please advise where that is as i may have looked at it and am suffering from can't see the forest for the trees syndrome due to frustartion and looking to hard .Thanks for any Help
You have to do it manually... In the Channels Recording folder you should see an Import Folder with subfolders of TV and Movies.
As Edwin_Perez mentioned, it's due to the guide data.
What source are you recording these from and what is the source of the guide data?
To move the recordings into your local content imports Movie directory see Channels Support - Personal Media
After you move one to an import directory and import it, you'll want to Trash the original recording from within Channels DVR to remove it from the database, otherwise it will show it twice in your Library (the recording and the import).
Channels does not offer any way to "export" or move recordings.
This is common for Pluto recordings as the guide data coming from these community custom channels can have iffy guide data.
The suggestions above will help get them in your library as movies.
They were Pluto channels they were recorded from and thanks for the help all . Also I think one of them was from a Samsung plus channel so they are probably like that too
