Moving from Raspberry Pi to 2014 Mac mini

I'm going to move from my Pi to a 2014 2.6ghz mini with an external drive. The Pi has been fine but I'm limited by is remote transcoding.

I'm not sure I understand the migration process. The Pi has a 2TB external drive but the Mini will use an 8TB external.

I plan on putting the Pi and it's 2TB drive aside for now while I test the Mini. The 2TB drive is only about 20% used.

Can I create a backup on the 2TB drive. Temporarily plug it into the mini and restore to the 8TB mini drive.

Will the recording, timers, and all other settings copy with the restore?

Is there anything else I need to do for a seamless transfer. I've read the Mac Mini threads and I think I know what settings to use. The mini will be dedicated to channels DVR and after setup will be headless.

Will the restore process copy files from the 2TB drive to the 8TB drive or should I copy them over manually?

You will have to copy them over yourself
