Is the process for this the same as other moves? I have an external with recordings already on it. When the Shield directs me to the web setup, will it allow me to perform a recordings restore?
Yes, you can open dvr:8089/restore and select the most recent backup
I tried, and I selected the most recent backup. I’m getting Error: no write permissions on dvr directory any time I try to enable DVR from the admin page.
What is your path set to?
After restore the default path under DVR was:
/storage/8228A10328A0F6F7

On shield only a special NVIDIA_SHIELD folder is writable. So you need to move everything into a folder first and then use that with the DVR.
Oh, alright. So just use something like ES File Explorer to move all the stuff that was just restored?
Will it not effect Channels formatting (schedules, logs, etc.)? Move ALL of the Channels related folders under NVIDIA_SHIELD?
Yes, I would recommend using:
/storage/8228A10328A0F6F7/NVIDIA_SHIELD/DVR
You could attach to a computer and do it there first.
The backup was already imported with your passes and database.
