I'm trying to move my imported TV shows and movies from an external hard drive to a NAS. I'm running the server app on Mac OS.
Other than adding the NAS as a new source in the library, is there another way to do this? The problem is doing that will remove any of the matching, changes I made to metadata, and collections I put them in.
Also, what happens if the NAS disconnects? Is it going to delete everything from my library, or just give an error until it reconnects?

If the external drive was separate from your storage path (added as a source for personal media) then I think you can just change that path without losing your indexing etc. Others may have recent experience with this.
If your NAS is offline, then media on it will not play. There will be an error in the log and possibly you will see one. The media will remain indexed.
Imports store the absolute path to them in the database, so moving them will not work, unless you can make the absolute path to them look the same to Channels DVR (symlinks, or the like).
