So I moved recordings for a single TV show over to another drive and added the folder (called "Channels DVR Recordings") in General settings as a storage path. How does the back-end database get updated with the new location of the file?
I can see when trying to manage an episode that Channels reports it can't find the file.
Is there a support article that specifically describes the proper steps to move recordings?
You Should have a TV and Movies subdirectory... under "Channels DVR Recordings" and move the shows to appropriate place.
Your storage path has to be a complete replica of Channels. So I have this:
And the E:\ location looks like this:
Channels will then check through the list of Storage Paths in order looking for a file. Like here's one on C:\ drive:
And here's one on my E:\ drive:
See how their ending paths are exactly the same, beginning with TV? That's what Channels is looking for first, then the directories and file names it created. If you change anything, then it won't find it.
