MP3 Audio Output Option?

Evaluating swimming headphones, and most use Bluetooth which doesn't work underwater, but they all have MP3 players built in. Given that Channels can record a program, is there a way to split out an MP3 audio file to download into the headphones?

Tried paring the headphones to a poolside iPad (no judgement please - but they cut out constantly, and keeping my head lined up with the iPad detracts from the workout.

Best workaround so far has been a multi-step process involving TeamViewer to remotely use VLC on the Channels Server, download the resultant audio file into the headphones, and then deal with synchronization manually.. The $360 Zygo Solo headphones are out of my budget, but do stream over FM radio, which does work 1-2 feet underwater.

2-10 Gigabyte files stream in real time, but don't download in a reasonable timeframe.

Are you saying you want a separate MP3 audio track to listen to while watching a stream, or do you just want the audio?

If the latter, there are numerous threads about how to get MP3 audio-only remote streams, and all of those techniques work locally, too. (And for the former, the audio-only techniques will also work to change the audio encoding of A/V streams.)

Do note: both techniques require the use of other apps, and are not fully supported through the Channels app.

Channels won’t do this for you, but there’s many free tools on the internet that will take your video file and deliver you an mp3 of just its audio.

A little google searching should help.
