MSNBC TVE stream not working

Tonight the MSNBC stream isn’t working. I get an error message that starts with “playlist had no segments.” Any ideas on how to fix this?

There have been similar reports recently. The only suggestion I see in this thread is to restart your server:

Thank you. I tried that, but it didn't help. I'm wondering: could this be due to MSNBC adding a pre-roll ad to their TVE feed? I went to their website to make sure that their TVE stream was working there and I encountered an ad just before the feed would start.

Someone else here smarter than me will have to answer that one. Good luck! It seems to be working for some but not others.

I had this problem last week. When I went to "Troubleshooting" in the Channels Web console, Chrome was out of date. It then fixed itself, and MSNBC still didn't work. I then stopped the Channels program running on my Synology NAS and restarted it and it started working after restart and its been working ever since. I simply mention the Chrome thing because maybe that was related and maybe both the Chrome getting fixed and the restart got MSNBC to work again.

Thank you for sharing your experience and your suggestion. However, I'm not running it on a NAS, but on a Mac. All my Troubleshooting is green and Chrome isn't even listed. I've restarted Channels multiple times, but it hasn't made a difference.

If you mean TVE channel 6050, it's working for me right now. Usually don't watch it.
What are you looking for?
I'm viewing it with Xfinity-TVE and also can view on my Xfinity-HDHR Prime.

I’m trying to watch it with Verizon-TVE. It used to work just fine, but it stopped working and I can’t figure out how to fix it.

MSNBC is working fine here too. Shouldn't matter which TVE provider as all they do authenticate the stream. I did have issues with CNBC most of this week, but it's back to normal today.

MSNBC with Verizon TVE… just worked here now.

So now MSNBC streaming is working about 25% of the times I try it. I've changed DNS Servers and even tried VPNs (in case it was an IP issue). However, nothing I've done has made a difference. I emailed support, so I'm hoping they'll be able to help me.

I don't know if other people have had the same experience, and I don't know whether the developers did anything about it in specific, but the latest couple of pre-release versions appear to have solved my issues with MSNBC TVE.
