Multi-speed / variable-rate Fast Forward for press-and-hold

I love using the Channels App, having switched over from TIVO this spring. There is one feature I really miss from the TIVO environment, though. Currently, holding the FF button gives one fixed playback speed. Coming from TiVo, I really miss having multiple selectable FF speeds (e.g., 3x, 10x, 20x+) — repeatedly pressing the FF button to cycle through progressively faster speeds while still seeing a scrubbing preview.

Right now the only adjustable option is the seek-jump interval (in seconds), but that's a blunt instrument for getting precise — it either takes many taps to cover a long commercial break, or it's too coarse to land accurately at the end of one. A tiered FF (press once for a slower scan speed, press again to go faster) would let users cover long distances quickly and then dial back to a slower speed for precision, all through a single button — without needing to guess at seek intervals.

I would love to see this considered for a future release. Thank you,

Yup. This has been asked over and over and it is something they just don't want to do. At least on Apple TV you can pause and then use the pad to swipe left and right and it moves very fast. But for those of us that don't like the accidental touch and turn it off.... it stinks that we don't get a faster FF option. Hopefully one day they will reconsider.
