Multiple Devices Needs Antenna Connection Each?

I have two devices now: HDHR5-4K and HDHomeRun DUAL. Do I need a splitter to connect an OTA antenna cable to each one?

Yes. Each device needs its own connection to the source.

(Out of curiosity, how else did you assume a device could serve you a feed without any input?)

I knew that it would need the signal feed but there was some poorly worded community posts about Channels being able to use the tuners from all devices and I wanted the clarification. I am a long time Channels user but just got my second device.
