Multiple HDHRs again - app vs. "sources" page

It's me again - I am still trying to make a two-antenna solution work properly. I have a Televes DATBOSS Mix LR in my sunroom propped up on a chair pointed towards Denver feeding to device 1033F93F, and a bowtie array pointed towards Cheyenne feeding to device 10315F7A. (An installer had the Televes on the roof but the mount bent over in the wind we had here. No antenna damage! :disappointed_relieved:)

I have questions about the functionality in the app vs. the web admin "sources" page. In the app, I have run fresh scans from the app on each HDHR, and marked the channels best caught on each antenna with a  and marked that channel with a :no_entry_sign: on the other. So I hope that 5.1 from Cheyenne should only use 10315F7A and 4.1 from Denver should only use 10315F7A. After the scans and the channel marking, I went to the "sources" page and did "Reload Lineup" for each source.

So when I first tried this, I was seeing Channels reaching for the wrong HDHR. I went to "Manage Lineup" and noticed that the  / :no_entry_sign: stuff was not reflected there. But I could do it from that dialog, and that seems to have helped.

So it looks like the app and the "sources" page both have ways to prioritize sources, and both have ways to favorite or ban channels, but only the setting on the "sources" page matters. Is that what I can expect? It makes the app useful only to do channel scans, it seems.

Thanks,
Rob T

If you go into Admin server, are you not able to go to sources, then Manage Sources from each HDHR and hide whatever channel you want? then delete/recreate from Guide Data..

maybe i'm not following.

I said I just did that. But also said there's a way to do this in the iOS app that doesn't appear to work.

There is a setting on the ios app to sync sources and their ban/un baned status with the server. Its best to manage all that stuff on the web admin anyway and then jsut sync with the clients.

What is that setting? I just looked through everything and didn't see it.

Not exactly the same situation but I ended up deleting the apps on each iphone and TVOS AppleTV device to get favorites channels synched from the PC Channels server to each individual device app. That was easier/less time for me than doing the same on the device at each TV. I don't think there is an option to synch to the server after the initial install of the app for apple devices.

Sorry I was tinking about the android client that has that setting. iOS and TVOS sync with the server automatically. Just push the source priority setting down to your clients and manage all of the favorite/blocked stations on the server and you will be good.

That is what I would expect, but it is certainly not what I am seeing. What I am seeing is that only changes made on the server web page have an effect.

I believe in the past the devs have said that on Apple TV, it will automatically sync with the server channels on first launch after downloading the app. After that any changes made in the ATV do not sync back to the server.

Each client device has their own favorites, hidden channels and source priorities.
Best to do this "admin" work in the DVR web UI and push those changes to the clients.
