Multiview: original stream(s) stop when loading subsequent streams

I can load a stream, but when I try to load more streams, all other streams stop playing altogether. I can’t regain playback of those streams, even if I remove all other streams. Only happens on AppleTV; no issue with iPad. Started happening with tvOS 26.2.

Hmm, is this OTA or IPTV? Does your content provider have some sort of limit on the maximum number of streams allowed?

Haven’t been able to track down any indicators; happens with all OTA, all TVE, or mix of both. Worked seamlessly on tvOS 26.1, which makes me think it’s some change Apple made, but can’t for the life of me think of what. Really odd that it still works on iPadOS 26.3.

@maddox @tmm1 Am I the only one experiencing this issue? If so I can try to resolve it on my end, but it’s happening on two different AppleTVs.

Whatever was causing the issue was resolved by updating to a developer beta of tvOS 26.3.

Has been happening with me as well, used to work great but no longer. I just tried updating to the 26.3 beta and still does it, regardless if live or TVE. When adding channels to the view, only the most recent one continues to play, any previous one freezes when the next on is added, regardless of the number added.

I also just upgraded my system to the current pre-release server version.

EDIT: Latest beta app release works perfectly running in my M1 Mac, but on Apple TV the beta app still freezes on 26.3 beta.

It's still happening to me as well. What I've found is that I have to force quit the ChannelsDVR app on the AppleTV (double tap the menu button then swipe up on the app – just like you would on an iPhone). Once I reopen it seems to work great again. If I had to guess it's some sort of memory issue. Definitely repeatable and fairly certain it's actually a ChannelsDVR issue.
