Type ip addr after logging in with root
Is the light on the back for the Ethernet port green?
Amen (@tmm1) the back of the Ethernet port is not lit up at all!

Awaiting further instructions....
You need Ethernet link. Maybe it's a bad cable or something. Do whatever you need to in order to make the light on the back turn green.
