Naming Conventions

I use MCEBuddy to convert the container to .MKV to allow for chapters that can be accessed in Kodi. I do not change the file location or title other than the extension. Is there anyway that I can wildcard the extension (title.*) to allow Channels to play the videos remotely? I do not want to have to use Emby anymore for remote playback.

If you use the "EDL export" option on the Settings tab of the web UI, Channels will put an EDL next to the recording, and Kodi will pick up the EDL and use it.

Thanks. We actually like the Chapters option as all we do is press the up button and it skips the commercials. Automated skipping within Kodi is just too hit and miss, plus since we use the EMBY app within Kodi, EDL skipping is not functional.

You can rename the mkv to mpg and it’ll work in both.

@robmich If you use the Channels kodi add-on, there is a setting in the addon to enable auto-skip or not. If you disable auto skip, it should let you browse chapters.

That should work, I can add a rename extension command to the MCEBuddy profile.

Thanks!
