I had the same problem with MSNBC today, with Verizon as provider. Pre-release upgrade fixed it, plus added about 10 additional channels
i have the same issue. how can i get pre release? DVR running on shield tv
Go to the web ui, click the drop down in the version section and select prerelease.
thanks. i cant believe i never notice the drop down smh
Thanks, fixed it for me too. YouTubeTV.
Both MSNBC and NBC TVE are both showing 60fps now so this is a welcome change
I did a quick check of Monday's Nicolle vs today's Nicolle and the bitrate increased from around 3.5 mbps to around 5.5 mbps.
Yes, looks like all NBC Universal channels including USA and Bravo are coming in at 60fps now. I never thought they would do it for their non-sports TVE streams!
If only Turner and Discovery would catch up to the times…
I'm not sure if related, but the audio on my NBC channel is not working but video is good. I'm wondering if a common solution exists beyond upgrading to the latest Pre-release?
I'm on the latest pre-release. My TVE NBC was channel 6000 but only if I enabled Local Networks via TV Everywhere I've somehow lost NBC and only NBC... ?? I re-signed in to Verizon, no login problems, I've reset my server, checked all settings... nothing... thoughts?
This happened to me a couple of weeks back with CBS. It showed up later in the day (like 10 hours later) during a rescan.
Been at least 24 hours since it disappeared.
If you need help you should submit diagnostics and email support.
I just rescanned my TVE yet again, and magically NBC has returned. It just needed your response I guess tmm1...
Lost CNBC on ATT TVE.
Downloaded pre-release and re-scanned all channels. CNBC is back
I, too, found this. But it looks like now it's at a higher bitrate -- around 5-6 mbps -- but 720p. Across all NBC channels. Is this happening for anyone else? It looks like it started on August 11.
Yeah, I had noticed earlier that MSNBC (and other NBC channels) went from 30 fps to 60 fps and that the bit rate had increased. What I did not notice initially is that it also went from 1920x1080 (1080p30 or 1080i30, probably the former) to 1440x720 (720p60).
I went through nearly all the TVE channels and they all seem to be either 1920x1080 30 fps or 1440x720 60 fps. There were a few that were different from those resolutions, but only by a few pixels. I don't recall finding any that were 1080p60. The bit rates seemed to vary quite a bit, but it's hard to nail that down when only looking at each channel for a few seconds.
So, the change to the NBC channels is not quite as exciting as it first appeared.
Yes, there was a resolution decrease to 720p but personally I find the new streams much more watchable. Higher bitrate and fps are more important to me. The old MSNBC stream was watchable, but the old Bravo and E! streams looked extremely compressed and grainy-looking.
I am seeing 720p60 for everything. Pre the 11th it was very significantly improved 1080p60 and some 1080p30. Before that it was 1080p30 and for some networks, especially Bravo, it was terrible with very bad deinterlacing artifacts and much lower bitrate.
