Hi Everyone,

Newbie here… and working towards cutting my directv subscription by years end. I have currently configured an amplified attic antenna, 2 ATV’s, EXTEND and Airport Extreme. Goal is to have four ATV’s connected. I am currently challenged trying to centralize my wired connection points for the antenna feed, EXTEND and router(ISP feed) in place that provides best service for the ATV’s.

My question is how best optimize my wireless throughput throughout the house? anyone recommend tools or best practices for the ATV? perhaps useful throughput apps for wireless router to ATV? I have been using wifi sweet spot for ios… router configuration recommendations? Probably overthinking this stuff, but would prefer to get this kind of stuff right the first time,

The best to do is to put a wired connection where every TV is, then use a switch to connect everything. Wireless isn’t the most reliable, especially when the router is 3 rooms away from where the Apple TV is.

If running ethernet isn’t an option for you, you can try using Powerline Ethernet devices or Moca (networking over coax) devices. Moca 2.0 can get up to a gigabit and it’s pretty great.

The rule in my house is, if it doesn’t move, it gets put onto the wired network.
