New channels version locks up while playing buffered stream, has to be force closed to recover

What is up with these crappy update releases? The new version starting yesterday 10/2 hangs while trying to skip forward on a buffered stream. This has happened twice in the last 24 hours, requiring the app to be force closed and restarted.

I tune to a channel and hit pause, then start playIng a few minutes later which seems ok, then when a commercial break starts I skip forward a couple clicks and the video stream is frozen and cannot be continued. I have to force close the app and then relaunch channels and tune to a different channel and then come back to the first one before I can continue watching, now having lost a chunk of buffered video.

You guys are really not doing sufficient testing of these releases, as this problem literally started only in the last two days corresponding with your release of version 3.0.

Please stop working on new features until you can fix the bugs in the existing product.

Hi, can you tell me what hdhomerun you’re using? Are your streams mpeg2 or H264?

Hdhomerun prime. Not sure of stream codec. Xfinity claims they were switching to 264 a year ago but I’m not sure how to check.

Likely you are switched over to H264. You can check on the http://my.hdhomerun.com site by clicking into your tuner and then on channel list, and looking for the “AVC” label next to channels.

We found an issue with the VideoToolbox decoder in tvOS 11 which was causing this bug in certain cases. It has been fixed in the latest App Store build released yesterday, v3.0.2

Thanks for reporting this issue.
