New episodes not being scheduled

I have several passes setup to record new programs only. Even though the guide shows them as new, they are not scheduling to record. For example:

Pass Guide

Any ideas?

What other shows is this happening for?

Does it work if you set it for all episodes?

Hmm I setup a pass for This is Us and it shows in my Schedule for tonight

You can try pausing and resuming the pass to trigger a schedule update.

I replied back via email, but I’m not seeing them listed here. I did try pausing and removing the pass, but it had no effect.

Today the guide updated and I now see recordings scheduled for episodes in the newly added guide data. Is there a way to force a complete refresh of the guide data?

You can click the circle icon under your HDHR to refresh guide data. It usually happens every morning around 9am.

Are you seeing the other shows (The Gifted) in your schedule now too?

Forcing a guide refresh (and a scheduled refresh) seemed to do the trick. I now have 14 recording scheduled!

Can you email the file c:/programdata/ChannelsDVR/data/channels-dvr.log to [email protected] so I can try to figure out why it didn’t work before

From the logs you sent over (thanks!), it seems you may have two different series passes for This Is Us and that caused some confusion. Can you check to see if that’s the case (or file>save on http://127.0.0.1:8089/dvr/rules and email to [email protected]).

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have a similar problem.

Been trying to record "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and "The Late Late Show with James Corden"

When selecting "new episodes," nothing gets scheduled. When selecting "all episodes," it works. I don't want any reruns. Any reason this may be happening?

If useful:
Live OTA in Los Angeles Metro Area
HDHR Quattro
Channels DVR on Ubuntu 16.04
FireTV 2 (4K)
Everything hardwired

Thanks!

I think Colbert is off this week so there are no new episodes until next Monday

Looking through the schedule, I think you might be right. My bad!

Seems to be true for James Corden as well.

I'll change the DVR to new, and I'll see what happens.

Btw, shouldn't the DVR have the recordings scheduled about 3 weeks in advance, as the guide is that long?

Sometimes shows that are daily pop into the guide closer to their airing times. This has to do with guest bookings. The fact that they’re off for a week could have something to do with it too.

Thanks for the quick response. I'll follow what happens.

Thank you for the hard work - very happy with the DVR!

While the guide may have an entry, anything beyond 2 weeks is more than likely to be a placeholder. Most common in that situation is to merely have an entry for the program, with only the generic description for the episode rather than one pertaining to that particular airing. As it approaches the broadcast date the description (and associated tags, such as New Airing) will replace the generic listing.
