New Fake Channels in the guide

I guess you have to X them out in channels hdhr source lineup then as well

I can keep scanning my unused tuners and channels will pop up randomly in the client guide but not in the source. Here is another good example just did another scan and the clients picked up a few more analog channels...

In my experience they will pop up once and I’ll X them out never to be seen again. Channels remembers even if they are there or not on rescans. I guess it’s different for you

As you can see, they do not appear on the server only the Clients get those fake channels.... The Clients do not require the server to get its channels they connect directly to the tuners so you can watch without tuners sharing.... so during a scan it thinks those channels being scanned are active.

On iOS client X’ed out channels don’t show up. I will have to check my shield tv later to see if they do there

You are talking about something different. I am talking about channels that appear on the clients after a scan even though no tuner has those channels active. I know I can sync the source and they will go away.... but that does not stop others from popping up.... or fix the problem.

They aren't test channels, they are channels that cannot be identified that are fringe. THey were detected but never enough signal strength to lock on consistently. I have a bunch too, totally a HDHR issue.

Is your HDHR a cable tv model? Maybe it's picking up your neighbors virtual channels?

The HDHomeRun Cable tuner is not picking up any new channels the Channels DVR Clients do on a channel scan.

Do they appear in the Channel Lineup page on your HDHR?
If not, maybe your Channels client checked the HDHR's lineup while it was scanning for channels.
I remember one of the devs stating the clients periodically check an HDHR tuner lineup.
And remember seeing posts on the SD forum of people watching a channels scan and seeing channels picked up, but when the scan ended they were not there.

I have already said they do not. Repeat they only appear in the Clients.

Sorry, yes you did but I thought you meant the HDHR app

Must be the Channels client is getting the HDHR lineup while it's doing the every 3 days background scans.

Anyone know how often the Channels clients get the channel lineup from an HDHR?
Maybe there's some way they could avoid doing it during background scans if that's the cause.

No problem ... What I did is create a Channels Collection with all the channels that way it only adds channels that are added to the server.

Here's some irony, I don't want new OTA Channels to show up, but I would like to see any new TVE channels that might show up. This is why I don't want to use a collection, not to mention the training I would have to do for my other users).

Okay, here you go:

I manually added the OTA channels and then for the automatic I put in every category and excluded the HDHR as a source:

Worked perfectly and took me 5 minutes to set up.

The client shouldn't do it at all, only the server should, and only when its asked to, not automatically. Thats how every other DVR client works.

You forget the clients can be used without a DVR to access the HDHR tuners directly.

A checkbox to turn this off is a pretty easy fix.
