The HDHomeRun DVR did not support this in the backend to my knowledge. I ask multiple times but never got a clear answer.
With my prior DVR’s (I think all of them) in the Guide View there was the word “New” on any episode that was the “First Showing of the Episode”. You could then use rules to say only record “New” episodes. This would then allow you to Delete the Episode after watching and it would not record again. This worked well for me.
The HDHomeRun DVR did not have this “exact” option. Their New Logic (Recent) was that any show that has a Original Air Date of last 90 Days (Recent) would get recorded. This then would cause a problem with Deleting because if the show re-aired later it would record a second time. However, the advantage to this if you somehow missed the recording and it show again (like later in the week) it would record it then automatically.
My question: Is this “New” indication part of the Actual Guide Data and do you plan to support it? Maybe the HDHomeRun DVR Guide Data simply did not have this FLAG.
