Just added a couple new shows to the folder that Channels monitors for local content. The shows import fine and the metadata is correct. I have selected the option to include in Up Next but they do not show up. Each has a single episode in the folder for now but they are not appearing in Up Next.
Shows won’t show in Up Next until you’ve watched one.

This isn't working for me. I've watched a couple of episodes of an imported show, but none of the imported shows are showing in Up Next.

Did the episodes actually get marked as Watched? You might want to check them.
I think I figured out my problem. I watched a show and checked if the next episode was in Up Next. It was. Then I did what I had been doing which is to delete the imported file from the folder it was in. Up Next still showed the next episode. I did a Scan Sources, still showed the next episode. Then Prune Deleted, poof it was now gone from Up Next. So I guess by pruning the deleted files from the imports, Channels loses the memory of having watched that episode.
I also tested this by putting that episode back in the folder and letting Channels rescan sources. It did not show in Up Next, but then I marked that episode as watched and then the next up episode showed. So I guess the solution is to not Prune Deleted.
