I don't use one, but did you try downloading the .deb package file 
and uploading it as an app in your admin interface on the ReadyNAS?

I did hear back from Channels tech support. It sounds like the guide at the broken link was just a general “how to install a 3d party app on a ReadyNAS”. So I’ll just use the link to the Debian app page & go from there.
