The new FireTV MAX outperforms it.... After testing my current FireTV Cube kills this ONN device in performance and compatibility.
Sorry I should've explained better. The sluggish response is Only with Channels DVR app changing channels not the box itself. And the preparing issue i mentioned is not for regular channels users it was meant for users who run huge amounts of channels (I run over 7500 channels in channels dvr) disabling all channels guide fixes the occasional preparing. I prefer last channel option and onn doesn't have last channel button/pause/rw button so I added a 2nd remote with that function. Plus it has 32GB (22 available after setting up),3gb ram, USB port to add external storage, Ethernet port, wifi6 and hands free, also is dolby vision Atmos also.
Also have tivimate and ott commander setups running over 113,000 channels each and the box handles it flawless.
Only issue is channels DVR is slow changing channels even with developer settings set to be smoking fast...
That is a lot of channels, I can't keep up with couple hundred that I am using. Now I see why the ONN or any device would have some difficulty with your Channels setup. The ONN device does have some nice features especially for the price. But I will likely stick with my FireTV Max for now.
I have 861 Channels but a lot provide the same shows.
It just rebooted while watching a Channel Not changing ,surfing etc just watching the channel.
I have maybe 65 TVE channels in my Favorites list along with 12 CC4C channels So no great load at all.
Make a separate post and send logs to channels DVR team?
No doubt no reason to change boxes once you find the one that fits and suits you it's all cake then
I received the standard remote without backlight and no Free TV button. Just for kicks I ordered from amazon the RockTek G20 remote. It paired with no problem. The G20 remote has number buttons that facilitate direct channel number input as well as the RGYB buttons that can be assigned functions in the Channels app. I haven't had any rebooting or crash issues with the new device as of yet.
